Durham Light Infantry W.M. shoulder title.
Having carefully read through my copy of Westlake I am not entirely convinced that this badge was ever issued. Is it a modern fake/fantasy item? It certainly has no age to it.

Westlake specifically mentions the Bugle & DURHAM title you show in white metal, being introduced in 1952, changing to chrome in 1958 and finally the anodised example in '66.
Attached the anodised and presumably last example to be worn. Bess |

Thank you, I must have been half asleep when I read it.
It does indeed state that, In 1952 the Regiment once again adopted the one piece bugle/DURHAM titles (1348, 1349), but this time in w.m., changing to chrome in 1958 and silver anodised in 1966. I will now be offering this S/T for sale as it is outside of my collecting range. |
