Dave Parson’s- “DRAGON” R.I.P.
It is with regret I have to inform you that Dave Parson’s “DRAGON” has passed away from Illness, just been informed by his Wife Pauline.
If any Forum Member is a member of the Medal Society (Dave was big into Medal Ribbons) could they please post onto that Site of his Demise, as per his Wife’s wishes, as she has old contact numbers from years back somewhere, but these she would need to search out? Many Thanks Billy |

Terrible news, deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Dave Parsons username on this forum was ‘dragon166’, he very kindly made his well illustrated and easy to read publications on the RAF, ROC, ATC freely available to members via his albums. A great loss to the collecting community and this forum in particular. R.I.P. |

Sad news indeed, although his specialism is not my area of interest, he produced some excellent work which was admired. Condolences to his family. Regards Mark

Quite a shock to learn of Dave's passing. We corresponded and collected for 15 years or more, and he bought from me many times. In compiling his references he used a large number of my photos, or photos of my own collection to illustrate it.
Sad to hear. |

So sad to hear this news, Dave was always very kind and patient when dealing with those of us with a lesser knowledge of his area of expertise.
A gentleman and a great loss to the forum. |

Dave's RAF, ROC, ATC reference is fantastic, and so good of him to have given it to members for free.
I had a short correspondence with Dave via PM, so didn't know him that well, but he was ever so helpful and kind. Rest in Peace. Chris |

Sh*t, that is bad news. He was always helpful and willing to share his immense knowledge, must have had one of the best RAF collections in the world. RIP

I am so sorry to read this, he was very generous in sharing his knowledge and incredibly detailed RAF booklets which have been such a great source. He was very patient, no question too daft, and always keen to help.
Sending my sincerest condolences to his wife, family and friends. |

Such a great loss
Dave was my 'go to' person whenever I was stuck and needed some advice. From this grew a friendship and I spent many hours with him chatting about badges. He was so generous with his time and knowledge and I will miss my trips to Dave to discuss my latest purchase. My heart goes out to Pauline and his family. I always called her Mrs Parsons and have only just started calling her Pauline. Such a sad loss. RIP Dave

Wow - always sad to hear of someone passing. This seemed sudden, even though I've no idea how old Dave was, I always assumed he was about my age. Communicated a couple of times with him - very knowledgeable. Condolences to his family & friends. RIP.

RIP Dave and Condolences to friends and family.
Dave and I corresponded extensively on ROC items prior to him releasing the ROC pages he shared in his album. Often finding unusual items which formed the basis for many a debate we shared.

RIP Dave and condolences to all his family.
I only ever chatted with him online, but a lovely guy and was glad to help him out with a couple of the more esoteric modern badges. |
