Default RAF Civilian Wireless Reserve (CWR) badge

Hi all,

I have a RAF Civilian Wireless Reserve (CWR) lapel badge. This was a pre WWII organisation of whom several members enlisted soon after war was declared.

It would seem that the commoner? badge does not have the enamelled letter 'C' above the eagle as this one has.

It has been suggested it may be for a regional controller but nothing I have seen has been documented to verify this.

The rear of the badge is numbered 18.

It came loose in its original box with a written callsign designation of G6GH.

If anyone can resolve what the 'C' signifies it would be most appreciated.

Regards

Have you seen this, the C may have something to do with Page 2.
