A friend who is a dealer has just purchased a lot of Norfolk Regt bits from an old chap who was a bit of a hoarder and bought a lot of the same stuff. I am aware these badges have been faked so if you can help to id the hooky ones please.

He doesn't want to mislead people and will be selling these in due course.

The medal pair is nice and for lad who served in 6th Cyclist Bat Norfolks and KIA with 1st Norfolk in 1918.

What is the yellow triangle with the Norfolk badge?
I can pass on contact details if anyone is interested in specific items.

The majority of them look good, but of course it is impossible to access them accurately from these photos.
Close ups and reverses are needed.

Close ups are needed to be sure but I think there’s 9 or maybe 10 Mr Punch fakes in that first group of Norfolks. The Gresham OTC is fake. As to the second batch, again close ups are needed but the Britannia on a tablet with slider is certainly fake/fantasy.

WWI The Norfolk Regiment Officers cloth shoulder titles, Yellow triangle with red stitched Britannia.

These patches were sewn on the back of the uniform or shoulders to identify the officer and regiment advancing forward into the chaos of battle.

I believe the red Britannia on yellow triangle, is Norfolk CCF.

Hi Steve, it looks like most of the metal Norfolk badges are copies. If you look at the trident top on the Gresham badge, you will see the prongs are very square and parallel, if any of the others have that, then is a fake. After that the one with the 9 in the middle has a cast look about it, so fake if so. I hope your mate didn’t part with to much cash.

Fake fake fake fake - but not sure what the bronzed example is? On prongs? An OR's badge but in bronze?? I would like further info on that one if anyone knows please. It looks like a good die and it's not a Punch/Judy/old crone fake.

Steve, tell your friend the ribbons on the two medals need to be swapped over.

I have examples like that, both mounted for wear and as worn by their recipients as well as in old contemporary frames, in this case, for me at least, it would depend upon how old the frame is, the ribbon does appear to be very faded and may well have been displayed since the twenties or thirties, although, perhaps not in that particular frame.

The ribbons often crop up with the wrong medals (as were those of one of my grandfather's that I was given as a kid), possibly because the BWM ribbon seems too narrow for the medal and the VM ribbon is wider.

Having now seen the frame, the medals & penny look like they were framed a long time ago prob the 20's and do not appear to have been touched since. Local framers label as well.

He brought the bits for me to see yesterday. That one bottom Row Pic 2 other ranks that appears to be bronzed.
It is Die cast with good definition and the bronzing is the same as I have seen on other genuine badges. Pictures attached.

Many thanks for letting me know.
I do wonder who such a badge was intended for? To the best of my knowledge officers wore a different badge. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could elaborate?
I can’t comment on the authenticity of the other badge you show but I would say Norfolk Volunteers/Rifles too.
