Help! Please ...Unusual military type pliers for identification
..picked this thing up today ,appears military used , no idea what country , period of exact use if anyone could help it would be appreciated .

Its for pulling nails out of wood.

Normally used for opening nailed down lids of transit cases. The sliding handle acts as a hammer for forcing the jaws into the wood around the nail.

A very useful tool, there are lots on ebay, just search slide hammer nail puller, mine is broad arrow marked and dated 2004.

A good screwdriver and screws that haven't been reused 10 tines would have been better
