Hi Alan,

Well, that's what I took out from the discussion thus far, circa 1948 or later but I was curious to see it was, what appears to be, a bronze badge apparently with loops for attachment. I would have thought it should be nickel or white metal at this point?

Trying to learn here.

So, bronze with loops circa 1950's would be... Officer or Other Ranks?

Tim

When it comes to cadets there are no rules.

The badge was most definitely still in use between 2005 and 2010 whilst I was working in the (then) 49 (Eastern Brigade) AOR. It is my understanding that the Army Section of the Perse School CCF was either disbanded or placed in suspended animation for the foreseeable future. To the best of my knowledge the CCF at the school now only has an RAF section.

Paul

The school's web entries only show a RAF section so I thought the same.

I've looked at the website for old photos and there isn't much circa WW1.

Is there a list showing the military commanding officers, with dates served, since school inception?

I also understand there is a difference between the OTC and CCF, but did the military chain of command cover both or were they too, separate commands with their own chain of command structures?

I have been looking into Downside CCF badges and here is proof that the 2nd pattern badge shown in K&K is not OTC but CCF.

The brass shield version with OTC title is recorded by EJ Martin in 1938.

CCF badge still worn with k/c today by senior cadets.
