Is this PC gone mad? Next it'll be:

"Sorry, Sarge, I can't go on guard duty tonight, only East Enders is on and there's another barney in progress."

Or:

"I can't go and fight 'cos I was takin' the missus shopping."

Whatever next?

David

No, just another idea generated by another civilian in MoD who probably only works three days a week with flex-time, earns more than the soldiers who fight for his right to do so, and would never have the convictions to put on a uniform and serve anyway because it would affect his lifestyle.

In Australia the Defence Force is fast becoming just another branch of the Public Service, the same PC, there's probably more 1 star or above officers or their civilian equivalents serving in PR roles than commanding field force formations. They don't even talk like soldiers anymore.

A far cry from the soldiers of "Long Tan - The Legend of ANZAC upheld". Or, in our (the Poms') case the Battles of Imjin and The Hook. Mike
