Default CMC Cloth title

Recently acquired, this title was found in Britain with a collection of British made cloth titles. expert advice however says it's not Canadian.

I also thought possibly from Ceylon but if so it's not in Renfrew and Cranston.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Jon

Have you ever been to Cranwell? It's an RAF College - nothing remotely "military " about it - full of the polyester trouser wearing two winged master race !

Hi Jon,

I think, it could be South African perhaps and worn by the Transvaal Cycle and Motorcycle Corps; although, I'd wait for other opinons.

Best,

Marcus

Canadian Military Colleges? I could be wrong here but I seem to remember travelling on the train from Montreal to Hamilton on leave in the early 60s and a couple of cadets from RMC got on at Kingston. They were wearing dark blue serge with this shoulder title??? All before unification of course. Then again a long time ago.

Cheers Al

I believe RMC cadets would have been wearing 'RMC' titles, as they do today. But I could be wrong, just never heard of them wearing 'CMC' in that style and the bilingual titles would be 'RMC / CMR', not CMC.

Thanks for all the thoughts. On expert advice I dismissed the Canadian option as unlikely so we are still no further forward.
