Royal Navy Parachute Wing
Hi guys
would like to know when this would of been used. The only info I have is Oliver Locks book which he mentions worn on temperate uniform and has an image with individual (Camo Jacket)who served in 148 Cdo Battery 1965 and then used the same camo with wing in the Falklands. The wings shown in the book have fully embroidered feathers(?) Note split feathers and embroidered on dark blue felt. Would any one have dates on wear and is it still used today? cheers Phill |

Certainly still being worn on RM Blues NO. 3's in 1963 ... then we changed over to Lovat uniforms April '64, the No 3 uniforms were discontinued. No idea when these wings were introduced though.

Much appreciated Sunray 9
Good to know an actual date of use from a veteran. Would anyone know when this was wing was discontinued? Was it used on the Lovat uniform and also authorized on DPM? Phill |

These wings were not worn on Lovats and I personally never saw them on DPM's.

Excellent so we have an end date 1963.
The image of the individual wearing the red wing on a Denison smock (apologies incorrectly put DPM) with the red wing must of been unauthorized. This is on page 267 Oliver Locks book British Airborne Insignia. Thanks for help guys Phill |

Looking at the photographs, I would have said that particular wing does not have any significant age to it.
