BEF
Good day folks
Below is a BEF shoulder title. When the BEF embarked did this shoulder title replace regimental and corps titles or was it worn by particular units only? I can't see the Norfolk's or the Grenadier Guards (or any other regiments for that matter) giving up their shoulder titles! Or is this title just a fantasy. Many thanks James |

BEF
I also have been denied access, but I seem to recall that this badge was unofficial, worn by troops on leave from France to impress the ladies. Similar to the SEAC titles worn post-1945.
Stephen.

Thanks Leigh for the new link. It makes very interesting reading. I thought it very unlikely that regiments, units etc would drop their individual titles.
Thanks |

Looks like the private purchase "BEF" title would be worn as a form of status symbol. I suppose that even though it was a badge for coming second in the initial round of the 1939 - 45 rematch it might get the wearer stood a few free pints too.
