Rank of General
Having never aspired to such dizzy heights and if I ever saw someone with that much bling heading my way I would go another way not to good on whats what ?. I picked up a nice little group the other day. There were 3 sizes of Baton ?. My thinking one might be a collar and the other 2 different sizes for different uniforms ?. There was a few belts and some Headdress feathers a few badges one epaulet with the kings cypher suggesting a Aide -de -camp to king George V. There was also a British Legion badge and a Old Contemptable badge as well both j have numbers on them which could identify the wearer but I haven't a clue were to look to find out who this belongs to. There was a Lancer Girdle amongst the belts but I am wondering do the general staff wear that type of belt as well. They have the type with the tassels so would they also have with out...……………...well plenty of food for thought all help most welcome.

Mac,
The three sizes of crossed sword and baton are for wear on the epaulettes of different forms of jacket and possibly shirt. Here are modern examples in gold anodised. Tim
