Default Shanghai Volunteer Corps snippet

Hi folks

For those of you with a greater knowledge than mine on the SVC I thought this might interest you, it is a small piece of fine paper with the antecedents of the Regiment and dates of formation on.

No idea where it originally came from or how old it is........a book maybe or a magazine but an interesting little item.

cheers
Sean

Annual report would make sense as the paper is perhaps to thin/fine to be a page from a book

Incidentally,
Does any one have a SVC sports cup/trophy for sale? One with a badge on it?

This was an insert in a menu for members of the Shanghai Volunteer Corps who were living / visiting in Hong Kong in 1954 - they celebrated 100 years of the SVC.

Not really my line of collecting, but I couldn't resist this in an antique market in Salisbury about 40 years ago! There's a note on the back stating that the cap badge alone sold at Wallis and Wallis in 1992 for £240. The image did not come with the ashtray.

I have just come across a rather nice silver presentation tray which I am negotiating to buy, if the seller can decide what he wants for it, and if I don't have to sell one of my kidneys to pay for it.

It clearly has the same officer's silver cap badge attached to it.
