Default RAF Pin Back Bullion Wings

Hi all. I got these with some other RAF badges. Unfortunately the catch for the pin is missing. I have read on some listings that this type of wing are attributable to service in the Far East. Is there any truth to this or is it a myth? They are approx 3in long. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

These are Indian made pilot Wings , you can tell by the embroidery.
Certainly WW2 if not slightly before .
