I have a few more in my album

There are many manufacturers variations and reproductions.

Good luck Alain - I have been trying to date Cdo Group WW2 badges v later Cdo Trained Soldier post war Qualification badges for ages. While some are obvious - others are not. WW2 associated generally appear to have no central line down the dagger in many instances - but not all - I believe some do. Similarly - many post war Qualification badges lack the central line. As such, I think this yardstick is highly flawed and misleading. Bear in mind Cdo Gp badges were not issued until late anyway - Availability of Official printed examples was only notified across Cdo Group in October 1945 (a bit of a delay from approval date).

The Khaki backed example is a further mystery - generally said to be intended for Army Cdos, although most units were going through disbandment just post WW2. Never found in issued condition - several inconclusive theories re intended use.

As for dating post WW2 Cdo trained soldier qualification badges - I imagine only a knowledge of manufacturers of relevant vocabulary number would enlighten us, as there are several variants as you and Tim illustrate.

It will be interesting to read further comments
Mike
