Default Skill at Arms or Trade Badge help

All,
I have what appears to be a WW2 skill at arms or trade badge that has "RP" embrordered in cursive on khaki serge with wreaths underneath. Having looked through the reference material that I have on hand, I am unable to indentify this patch.

Any help is appreciated!

Lesser

Are you sure it is not RI, which is Recruit Instructor.

Silly question perhaps but could it be a badly worn SP badge?

Good evening Lesser,

This particular cloth badge is illustrated in "British Army Proficiency Badges" by Edwards & Langley. It is shown as No 208, on page No 126, in the chapter entitled "Unidentified, Unauthenticated and Unofficial Badges", stating "RS" in wreath. NOT regimental signaller nor regimental scout nor regimental sniper - all of which have their own disitnctive badges.

Sorry that I wasn't able to offer anything in the way of a positive identification.

All good wishes,
Peter
