Here's what I think, not sure about the others though.

I only focus on the WRC, so I am unable to comment on the other badges; however, as identified by Keith the 22D is a fake and the 25D a nice period Gaunt made example.

I think the 25th is quite nicely finished off too, with the white metal above and to the right of the first X deliberately removed with only the sword blade left showing, a handsome badge!

Unfortunately the XXII Dragoons is a repro. The numerals should be voided and there should be a void between the 'D' and the scroll.

Thank you Keith!
22nd Dragoons has also been pointed out by others as being a fake/reproduction - Thank you also Frank and Alex. Do others also agree with Keith's assesment of 1st and 7th Dragoon Guards as being reproductions. As for the 7th that would be a shame as it is such a beautiful badge. Thanks everyone! |

I agree the eagle 1DG and 7DG are bad. The Westminster Dragoons does not thrill me as it is a very poor strike, but I am not sure it is fake however.

Carabiners
I think the maker mark is Gladman & Norman.
I THINK this is a genuine example of this makers mark, based on this and the blow holes I would think this is a genuine badge. But as I mentioned earlier, I am still learning myself. Regards Chris |

Hi Chris, Thanks for your response. 3rd Carabiniers is indeed marked Gladman & Norman and two more lines which look like an address ... ST, and possibly Birmingham. Cheers, Tom

It’s one of the ones in the forums maker marks section. You can also find some threads on fake examples. |
