London Volunteer Regiment.
Hi,
I do not seem to be able to find anything on this badge. Is it just an out and out fake ? Would welcome any comments please. |

London Violunteer Rifles
JF1,
This is the cap badge of the London Volunteer rifles, and it is a copy/restrike. Original badges all had a Gaunt tablet, and EW lugs. The LVR were a part of the WW1 volunteer movement, collectively referred to as the VTC (Volunteer training Corps). Not all volunteer bodies were initially VTC, but the VTC was the central body that was finally recognised by the army, to which all other volunteer units had to affiliate themselves. As the County of London organised their volunteer units, the LVR became the 4th Battalion, Central Group, County of London Volunteer Regiment. Best regards, Tim |

I first came across this badge in the early 90s and it was in plentiful supply then. Each time the stock sold another would appear.
