Default OTC

Hello

Would it be possible for forum members, and or dealers, when showing OTC badges for sale, that they also show what county they come from?
I am not an expert in the OTC field, but for someone not familiar with the various schools, it would be very helpful. I am interested in all the OTCs, in the county`s that make up the Royal Anglian Regt.
Regards Terry

Terry,

I presume you have drawn up a list of all those OTC that fall within your chosen area of interest?

regards

Terry,
As Simon mentions it may be worth making a note of which OTC, CCF or Cadet units you are on the look out for, do you have a copy of K&K vol 2?

Here's what I have listed at present;

Hi Terry,

Another thing to be watchful of, is the large amount of County border changes which I believe happened in 1974.

For example, I collect to Berkshire but quite a few schools and Towns that were in Berkshire are now in Oxfordshire. So now when checking the School names on google etc. it would highlight them as being in Oxfordshire.
So do you ignore them as they are now not in your chosen County or do collect them because they were in your chosen county at one time but only collect badges/insignia up to 1974, when they caesed being in your chosen County?
The latter, is what I do. But I expect others will have different ideas on this.

Ian

Many thanks lads for all of your advice, but I think some of you have missed my point. Andy's album is a prime example of the of the point I am trying to make. Those that live in the UK have a good idea what county the OTCs are in, those on the other side of the WORLD find it a bit harder.
When a badge is offered for sale it would not take much to type in the county.

Mike, next time I'm over to the UK I will check out Duxford, I have been six times now but their badge display, was a bit embarrassing.

Ian makes a good point, some will say get on your computer and work it out for your self, which does make sense, but I do not have the time, my son and I are restoring three blitz trucks and running a business, so if the county's could be included you would make a fellow member very happy.
Regards Terry

It is amazing what a short memory there can be when it comes to some subjects, I have mentioned before trying to find if the St.Marys College, Crosby cadets had any specific insignia when they were affiliated to the Liverpool Irish in the late 1940`s.

Nobody at the school was aware of that affiliation or the later one to the RTR.

There was also this thread some time ago about a school which no longer exists:

It's hard enough working out whether the badge is OTC/CC/CCF/VTC/Corporation/other at times not to mention the period of use so it's quite a lot to ask to try and work out which county it is/was/used to be for a period as well!

Brimingham UOTC
Cambridge UOTC
East Midlands universities UOTC

but I have a feeling that you want to know all the regiments that make up the Royal Anglian, and otc from those units.ie Greshams, Nottingham, alderham, bancrofts, brentwood, felsted, and many many more.

Hi Paul, I think this is where the thread could lose its way. Are we taking about OTC or the CCF.
