Andy,

I am sorry I cannot help with the date but it is interesting that the title does not include CCF. There was a thread some time ago that said that uniforms worn by cadets were required to show that the wearers were indeed cadets.

I wonder if a supplementary title was worn with your cloth title as was the case with Liverpool Collegiate CCF in the attached picture ?

Regards

Peter

Multiple patches are not that uncommon: for example Bournemouth School CCF wears 2 or 3 patches: one with Bournemouth School on it and a second Combined Cadet Force title which for the Army and RAF sections is cut into 2 to fit a brassard.

Default Thank You

Thank you for taking the time to post your views on the badge, it was for that very reason, ie that there was no JTC/CCF on the title that I thought it might be able to be dated. cheers Andy.

I think it is safe to say that it is CCF and not that old.

This title is mentioned in Rawlings book on Cadet insignia and in the series of articles on the CCF in The Formation Sign in the early 1990`s by Derrick Burney and in each case it appears that this was the complete title ( no CCF )
