Default British Brass Disc Unit marking

Hi guys

I have a brass disc removed from an old Lee Enfield rifle. It is marked P.S.G.D. Does anyone know what unit this is?

It could very well be. The disc is from South Africa! Thanks for your reply.

Those odd marks like tiny "screwdrivers" seemed to have been used to "cancel" a previous unit marking.

I recall seeing one that had been used on one side, cancelled and then turned over!

You are correct. Those are cancellation marks. Often the discs were turned over and new markings put on.
