Hi mate, no its a reproduction badge thats often described as Jewish Brigade. I forget now which police or customs unit it was for. Caribbean somewhere, i think. Definitely not Palestine.

No connection whatsoever with Trinidad or Palestine. It is a Nigerian badge of some sort. Possibly Customs or similar. They are being reproed. in large numbers. Often described as Jewish Brigade. Whatever that is. Presumably Fire brigade???!!!

This badge was on a swagger stick top today, under the badge read Trinidad and Tobago police.
May have read Trinidad police department. Last edited by magpie; 14-04-19 at 08:03 PM. |

There are a few countries that use and have used the Star of David as their choice of emblem particularly in Africa, however this particular badge I believe is that of the Nigerian Customs before its title change to the - Nigerian Customs Preventive Service. You’ll know doubt note from the attached scan that the two badges are almost identical.

According to the book "British Army Cap Badges of the Twentieth" Century by Arthur Ward, at page 92 he show the badge and identified it has a pre-1947 {Palestine Police Force Cap Badge, often mistaken as a Jewish Brigade badge (but it does not have the Menorah on it) or Jewish Chaplains Badge, which would otherwise have a voided background.

Well he may well have, but he's wrong. It's Nigerian.
Nothing at all to do with Palestine. Here are another couple of related badges. |
