I think that this is ok but can anyone confirm that it's genuine and give a date when these were worn please? I've heard that these are pre 1916 but is this correct?

A genuine badge.

Plenty would still have been in wear beyond 1916.

Pretty common yes in that finding a genuine example isn’t hard and can be done any day of the week.

But obviously not as common by comparison to the standard RA badge of which there were literally hundreds of thousands more made in the KC-era.
