Interesting Chris, I've never seen one and didn't know an Irish Regt existed in Australia. Nice posting. Ray

I have seen an oxidised version of this badge as well - I might have a picture at home somewhere.

None appear to be from the NSW Irish Rifles.

Only existed around the 1900s and now a very rare badge.

Expect to pay $750+ for one.

What a lovely group of badges! I can imagine how you mixed up the attachments. After handling those your hand was probably still shaking when you hit the computer buttons.

Thanks for reviving an old thread with such badges.

Default NSW Irish Rifles 1903-12

I have seen this badge in brass, WM, oxy, and heard of a green enamel one years ago. Maybe the pre-federation QVC ones also had four variations?

Any ideas from the pictures are the shamrocks collar, shoulder titles as they have a coffin lug fitting to reverse Unsure of the shamrock 8 as it has lug fittings
I will take picturre of the tin they were contained in together with other RIF items and Blue cloth spike and reosette fittings
