Hi Luke,

I had advised the seller yesterday that it's not an original badge. He advises that it's being sold on behalf of an antiques dealer who states that he guarantees it is an original and that there were different makers of the cap badges and to refer to the Irish Military Collectors page as there are loads there ??

Buyer beware !!

Doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

There are a couple different genuine dies, but that is not one.

Default YCV Tunic

Hi Luke,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295585574394

Would the collar badges on this tunic be the other pattern as the lower veins are different to those on the more commonly found genuine ones or are collars different to the cap badges ?

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike, The collar badges are much smaller than the cap badge,

cap 42mm high 28mm wide, collar 30mm high 21mm wide.

best regards John

In my opinion those collar badges didnt start life on that tunic.

Look like modern copies to me.
