Default AOC cap badges

Hi folks,

A bit of help please, I've just been reorganising my RAOC bits and pieces, In fact I've started a new album so please have a look and advise if any errors.

But my question is about the following 1907 pattern cap badges.

The top one is a standard gm OR's cap badge with slider which I've had for years.

The other three are a bit odd.
The first one on the second row has a gilt type finish with lugs but isn't a heavy gilt front and back as I would expect on a nice old officers badge.

Next is a gm type cap badge but has a very dull almost bronze finish to the front, I have seen other ranks bronzed RE WW1 cap badges and wondered if this was something like that?

Lastly we have a gm ORs badge but with a long slider?

Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
Sean

Officers wore different badges, not being part of the corps but of the department, but your gilt one may be an NCO's badge.

I seem to recall that the long slider was for the Brodrick cap.

It was indeed introduced for the Brodrick cap in 1903 and then subsequently made with a shortened slider for wear with the new peaked cap from 1905.

To the best of my knowledge the badge changed size in 1907, from 40 x 50 mms to 34 x 40 mms, so, as OP states these are all post 1907 smaller sized badges the whole lugs, long, short slider chronology doesn't apply.
