Default Mystery 16th Lancers badge

I just acquired a small job lot of "mystery" badges - the lot was not particularly well described or photographed but the one badge I knew I had to have was an extremely rare cap badge to the 2nd Btn 1st Gurkha Rifles - worn1886 >1906 . (shown in the india badge section) I got so excited about owning it that I think I missed the fact that the other badges might contain some hidden gems - one looks like something to do with 16th Oueens Lancers - but I've not seen anything like it before ? I listed it under the mystery badge section - but after loads of views and no comments I thought I'd see if the Cavalry experts could tell me. 28mm high X 23mm wide.

Hi Mac - pretty sure it's nothing to do with the 16th Bengal Lancers - not least because they never had "Queens" in their title - also nothing similar in Ashok Nath's book "Izzat" - however it may well have something to do with the 16th Queen's Lancers service in India 1890 > 1899. All the other badges in the lot together with others the seller were listing had an India connection. Tim

Going to list it on ebay today unless any forum member wants to make me an interesting offer. Always interested in unusual Gurkha badges! Tim
