Morecambe and Heysham Civiliers 1940
At least 199 men joined the Morecambe and Heysham Civilian Training Volunteers or 'Civiliers' in 1940 as this membership card shows. I assume they disappeared into the Home Guard. Doubt there's a badge but...
All suggestions or information welcome. Postwarden |

I'm just reviving this thread from 2011 to see if anyone has ever come across the Morecombe and Heysham Civiliers, possibly a foreunner of the Home Guard.

Jon,
The Local Defence Volunteers (HG forerunners) mentioned may have involved the Morecambe and Heysham Civiliers. A cross ref from the member list may echo what the Lancashire Records Office (Preston) has for the early HG lists of the area. Paul |
