Default Field artillery badge

I'm waving the white flag on this one...there are just so many that are similar. "Scully" on the back.

It is a WW2 issue Royal Canadian Artillery cap badge. Makers mark is correct as 'W. Scully Ltd', should have a turning wheel. See Brooker's Badges of The Canadian Army 1920- Unification, Volume 6, Page 91.

Looks like an "antiqued brass" officer's cap badge.
Migory's used to sell these years ago on their list.

Default Migory

Floyd and Dianne Migory Of Toronto had a paper list of Canadian cap badges, collars, Shoulder titles etc. Most everything was $5. I think the most expensive badge on the list was the Ottawa Highlanders At $20. I think the last time I saw their list was about 20 years ago.

Its a genuine pickled brass cap badge made by Scully, worn post 1925 and in all probability pre WW2 when the badge was mostly brass. A nice badge.

regards

Thank you Simon. Yes the whole lot left to me from my Grandfather are genuine...he started collecting during WW1, not many fakes around then!

I went to a militaria show last week in Toronto - for the first time in 20 years, I think - and Floyd had a table. No $5 badges anymore, though.
