Default Montgomerys signature?

Hi totally not about badges! but a book I have had for years and a friend enjoys reading Military history and I mentioned I had a book i thought he would enjoy, Well! as you do found the book and started to "Browse!" the book "All In A Days March" by Major General David Belchem (Head of Field Marshal Montgomerys Operations Staff 1943-45)

The book is a 1st Edition and is dedicated on inner Title page reads :-
"David Belchem my companion on many battlefields and now my Chief of Staff. Montgomery of Alamein F.M."

Unfortunately I ,dont think it is actually ink but done at the Printing House, just how rare is Montgomerys signature and if any of you gentlemen have this book has your copy the Dedication also?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts all the best Billy

Not sure how rare Monty's signature is. You could check online, or by taking it to a rare book or autograph dealer. Since you are in Oxfordshire a visit to Blackwell's at their manor house outside Oxford might be in order. It should be relatively easy to determine whether it has been hand written or printed, just using a magifying glass or a microscope.
