Royal Warwickshire Cap Badge
Hi to All
I wonder if anyone can tell me anything about this Royal Warwickshire Cap Badge I recently acquired. I've looked at various other badges but they're all facing left. This one is facing right. It appears to be made in a cast bronze and has three loops on the back. I'd just like a confirmation if it's a complete fake ? The badge measures 57mm across x 40mm top to bottom. Robbo |

Nice example but not a cap badge it is an OSD (Officer's Service Dress) Bronzed collar badge worn in pairs

Hi Tim
Thank you for your information. At least it's not a copy then. It just seemed large for a collar badge. That's why I assumed it was a Cap badge. Robbo |

Have a look here (scroll down) to see a pair being worn by Fothergill Rex Elderton a 2nd Battalion Loos casualty. http://www.epsomandewellhistoryexplo...SurnamesE.html Regards Paul |

Hi Paul
Thanks for the link. It shows clearly the actual size. I hadn't realised they were quite so big. Robbo |

Royal Warwicks officers' SD badges are all the same size, cap and collar. The style of that badge looks similar to my father's suggesting possible WW2 period wear/manufacture.
