8th Indian division embroidered signs
Almost all the 8th Indian Division formation signs that I have seen during my collecting activity are printed canvas. Still I have come across two or three embroidered specimens: une is quite evidently theatre made, on a slip on, the other one, embroidered in golden bullion (officers issue?), could be Egiptian or Italian made, the last one, worsted on red cloth, I afraid could be a recent Pakistani repro, but maybe is some evidence of any production of worsted cloth 8th Division flashes? Thank you so much for your advise!

The bullion example is fine no question but you are right about the Other been a Pakistan fake the big give away is the backing cloth this is cut from the sacking on the bales of wool bought in to make the fakes - some times found in black or a very light green .Some nice badges u have.

My feeling was 'repro' based, as you say, on the embroidery style. Didn't know about the backing cloth trick either. Thanks, Nemo.
