Stop stalling and trying to distract with flattery - have you done black light and mister checks yet?

I dont have a misty squirty thing so I'm now sat here with all the lights on, the torch on my phone, a damp leg and berets from a bottle of sparkling water 😂 send help! Anyway, a name as already clocked in the (possible) RDG beret, I'm just about to give the RA a go.

They are drying on the radiator, I should probably move them off...nothing on the RA, the liner label was removed as well.

Right so I need some opinions on this, as I'm packing these away, do I leave the badge on and catalogue it as being on the wrong beret as that is how I found it or do I take the motto off?

Off topic, but not completely. I knew a young trooper in the 101st in Iraq in the 90's who used ot wear a WW2 side cap with the para/glider patch on guard duty....until his Top Kick saw it. He was just told ot stow and never let it be seen again. I ave a picture of hims somewhere and wish I could find it. as I'd share it.

A black beret with the wrong regiment's badge on?
I would say take it to the range and give it a full mag but experience on this thread indicates that suggestion would result in more howling at the moon........ |

Has anyone got a copy of the Osprey book "The Irish Defence Forces Since 1922"?
There's an illustration in it of a member of the 5th Infantry Battalion of the Permanent Defence Force wearing a black beret with a red diamond badge backing (I've only ever seen photos of PDF with red square rather than lozenge shaped badge backings). |

You know you wouldn't really. Any further pointers on the beret happily received as it is tagged and numbered but needs a full description, I've left the Motto on it for now.

If poss. check out the illustration in the 'The Irish Defence Forces Since 1922" book, if the caption is right then around 2000 a black beret with ref diamond was worn by PDF.
