Default Frontier Armed Mounted Police

All, haven't posted for awhile, but was really please when this badge arrived today.

It is either an officers FAMP shoulder belt plate or helmet plate. It has seen better days, but really happy to get it as their can't have been many around.

I would be very happy with it. You can bet it's seen it's share of action, and that makes for the best badge ever in my book! Very nice find!!!

Hi Shahl,
From what i can remember seen at the King Williams Town museum many years ago, the FAMP wore a torrin cap with the title as cap badge. I don't recall seen helmets. I believe this is a cross belt badge that someone has lead soldered two copper lugs on to probably mount in a frame as a helmet plate.

Regards
Steven

Pity about the damage but it is a beautifully constructed badge. Nice find!
Cheers,
Alex

Notwithstanding the missing orb and cross, I think I'd be quite happy too.
