New CANSOFCOM Uniforms
This topic finally made the news and was in today's Ottawa Citizen.

So, the special forces personnel will be easily identifiable...

Buttons and Bows
Yes, a force that once stayed in the shadows now wants to be seen. It seems the CF has gone the route of most third-world countries and decided that the fix for recruiting, supply, man-management and a myriad of other problems is to just shower everyone with new badges and uniforms. All under the guise of historical ties and esprit de corps. Of course finding out about these changes is a real challenge as no-one has the time, nor the interest to address inquiries.

They're always easily identifiable, in Britain anyway - they're the ones in photos with the little black boxes worn in front of their eyes.

Ed, that was what I was thinking. They hide the id's of JTF2 and CSOR, and now specifically point them out with new uniforms. And if I understand correctly, these uniforms are specifically for "operatives"?

This has to be the quote of the year:
“The distinct uniform serves to identity Canadian Special Operations Forces Command as the fourth Canadian Armed Forces environment and strengthen organizational morale and cohesion across CANSOFCOM,” Cadieux said.

You are not going to easily identify them, they will look too much like Americans!

Well, they would've if they didn't sound so impersonal & formulaic, rattled off by a civilian PR just a job give me the money spokesperson who's contracted to sell this today, some snake oil tomorrow in a modern speak sound bite. Maybe it would've been better with emojis? |

Thanks. The cross arrows look like the US ptn? Clutch back pins? Interesting that the formation /shoulder patch is not embroidered. It would be odd to id a foreign nation on a Canadian identification device, even if it is historical recognition.

CANSOFCOM
The arrows look a lot shorter than the US version.
