Found in a Pharmacy
Further to my introduction post this little lot of badges was my most recent find picked up yesterday when i went to fill my prescription at a new pharmacy. The owner is a bit of an antiques buff and had these in one case for sale. They're not to local units but i just couldn't leave them there so i bought the lot.
Being the novice to badges i am Would the gilt 16/22nd be an officers badge? It's marked Scully Montreal on the back where the other isn't marked at all. The calgary regiment badge isn't marked either. Hope you enjoy the badges and story Cheers Chris |

Pharmacy find
Very nice find, the Calgary badge is highly collectable and an early example in nice shape, sometimes the sunburst is missing.
The 16/22 Sask Horse are a little more known, but I cant tell if the bright one is an officers, need a better pic and a pic of the reverese. Nice find, in a pharmacy of all places? Mike |

The Calgary badge may in fact be maker marked. Scully's name is on the back of the unicorn, but sideways about where the lug is brazed on so often it is obscured. Not that it matters either way, it is a nice badge. Pictures of the backs would help.

I think the 16/22nd is an OR's badge, just unissued/unused. The Officer's badges I've seen are more ornately and delicately voided, with the area around the Horse's head, the bottom leaves and 16/22 lettering.

I don't think the shiny 16th/22nd cap badge is a gilt officer's. I'd say just untarnished.

Thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. I never would have guessed the difference was just tarnish.
