Default RC shoulder title

I found this in the gully behind my grandmother's house when I was a kid of about 11 or 12. Fortunately being a bit of a hoarder meant I didn't get discarded as I had know idea what is was. Other than remove the dirt I haven't touched it, both the lugs are intact (photo is a bit dark).

I now believe this to be a Rifle Club shoulder title. When reading the 1912 standing orders for dress and clothing (via National Archives) there is a section (para 41) on Rifle Clubs uniforms which mentions a title 5/8-in. conjoined letters "R.C." in brass to be worn on each shoulder strap. This title measures 16mm (5/8th inch), would I be correct in assuming this is what it is?

Yes, RC was a title worn by Rifle Clubs on a military style uniform in Australia.
I have also seen a NSW cross badge hat badge with "NRA".
I have an almost identical RC title with a Canadian maker, apparently Royal Canadians. I know nothing about Canadian badges but someone else no doubt can help.

Thanks kingsley, I suspected it was a Rifle Club badge, but haven't seen one before so just needed to have it confirmed as being correct. The fact that it's made by Stokes helped narrow down the likely candidates.

Thanks again,

Dan
