Can anyone identify this button please?
An item in my collection that has been an ongoing mystery is the button in the attached scan. It is silver, one-piece and the backmark is John Tipson of Birmingham. This firm made livery buttons from around the 1840's until the early 20th century.
The only attribution I can think of (albeit very tentative) for the "CCC" initials is Central Criminal Court. However there are many other possibilities and I was just wondering if anyone else knows its identity or has seen a similar button. Jamesb853 |

Or it could be any number of Cricket clubs.
