Worth saying that a few schools in this country began, sometimes century’s ago as “Hospitals” meaning schools for orphans and poor children but not in the same way as what we today refer to institutions as Hospitals. Whilst my own School The Liverpool Bluecoat School ( which never had an OTC or CCF although it did have ACF and ATC units) it did begin life in the centre of Liverpool as a school for orphans and when my Grandfather went there as an orphan before WW1 it was known as The Bluecoat Hospital but it was still a school. ( if you follow me ) Peter
