Whatchamacallit
Bit of a daft question really but being a tad confused (more and more frequently these days ) I'd welcome any clarification where possible. I often see posts where members have substituted the word 'eBay' for such things as ‘everyone’s favourite online auction site', or 'e---' [insert derogatory term of choice], or some such other replacement.
I am not entirely sure why this is; please forgive my naivety. Could someone kindly explain the rationale behind this practice? With thanks, JT |

The auction site that dare not speak its name. BWAHAHAHAHA. (No, I know it's Friday night, but I'm not drinking). |

In my case, as an Ebay business seller, the new terms and conditions of use include not saying anything derogatory about them in public. One has to be circumspect.

I have used the term 'everyone's favourite auction site' on many occasions and I have clearly had my tongue planted firmly in my cheek every time.

I have plenty of qualms but living out in the sticks I have little choice but to use their platform.
