Victorian Crown Maid of Erin Collar Badges - Can anyone identify them for me please?
Hello All
I have just received the pair of collar badges pictured below. A nice gilt pair of Victorian crowned badges but I cannot find them in Churchill's Infantry Collar Badge Book. Can anyone identify them for me please. Many thanks in advance Paddy |

Maid of Erin
How about 8th Irish Hussars?

Could be either 8th Irish Hussars (as Rob suggested) or the 5th Irish Lancers.
I've never seen the Victorian collars with non-voided strings before though

Paddy,
Lovely things, thanks for sharing, they look to have a Royal Irish 'feel' for me, possibly one of the Victorian Militia's? Regards Mark |

Many thanks for your suggestions. I will continue the search for a definite identification, one thing I know for sure is that they are not Ulster Defence Regiment collars as described by the seller. Paddy |

The Cavan Militia is the most likely candidate, also possible is Galway Militia
