Default The Liverpool Regiment - Genuine tunic button or not?

Hello all

Came across this ebay offering for a Liverpool Regiment item described as a 'tunic button'. Not a style I have come across before in many years of collecting buttons.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-AR...-/361838972759

Is it a button or some other type of fastening? Is it even a genuine item?

I have no connection with the seller and I'm not interested in buying it but just in case I am missing something here I would appreciate any comments.

Roger

Roger,

All I can say is that if I thought it was a genuine item to the Kings Liverpool Regiment then I would be bidding on it.

Regards

Peter

Enough said, Peter, thanks very much for your response.

I will now expect to see similar items for virtually every other regiment!!

Such buttons date from the 1970s when 'army surplus dump' shops were popular and 'old' military clothing was fashionable.
The "Equipement Militaires" buttons are common. These "Liverpool Regiment" buttons were not produced in such numbers.
