Default 17th Lancers

I was looking at Rod Floods motto, from Minden Militaria, of the 17th Lancers. It was a hallmarked JRG & S. I was wondering if anyone had ever seen one made by J & Co?

Might be worth searching through the albums using either 'motto' or '17'. A couple of members did some in-depth research into various makers but I don't know what they discovered off hand.
Cheers,
Alex

The Regiment (17th Lancers) amalgamated in 1922 with the 21st to form the 17th/21st Lancers 1922-1993. Rods is 1929 so its 17th/21st Lancers. I do have a J&CO dated 1924.

Hi Mac, thanks for the response, is the J&Co one hallmarked or white metal?

silver Hallmarked but as Allen pointed out one of the last, as they went out of business that year 1924 I think so a 1929 one must be made by who ever got the mould ?

I also have a Hallmarked cap Motto, it is hallmarked Birmingham, "p" for 1964 and makers mark, Gaunt London. I also have a collar Motto Hallmarked Birmingham "y" for 1923 and maker marked F & S for Firmin & Son.

Regards Phil.
