Default VMR title

Is the large cursive title a Victorian Mounted Rifles pouch badge or something else? The only other variety I have seen is the block letter shoulder title

There was a Natal, South Africa unit called 'Victoria Mounted Rifles' 1862-1888 that was merged into the Natal Mounted Rifles. This may be a kepi badge of theirs.

Hi Colin

I have the block letter VMR in brass but have never seen the entwined one, I will have a look at a couple of books later and see if I can find anything for you.

Regards

Phil.
