Royal East Middlesex Militia collar badge
Hi all,
Is this a Royal East Midlesex Militia WM collar badge? Saxon crown of five points Churchill 1455) from 1875 and unsure if lasted through to becoming 4th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment in 1881. Colour a little out off phone, cheers Dean. |

G'day Dean.
Hope all is ticketyboo with you. Yes indeed, it is Royal East Middlesex Militia. I appreciate the colouring is a bit off, but is it white metal? If white metal then O/R's. Pair of collars ORs Royal East Middlesex Militia. Churchill 1455.jpg They did become the 4th (Militia) Battalion Middlesex and as I understand it, Officers of the 4th did wear a similar badge on mess dress, but in a gilt metal. Pait of collars, Officers 4th (Militia) Btn, for mess dress. As Churchill 1455.jpg Glengarry badge: Royal East Middlesex Militia ORs glengarry badge c1874-1881. Became 4th Middlesex Btn in 1881.jpg But as always, I stand to be corrected. Regards Brian |
