Default Anodised SAS wings

Gents, recent acquisition- anodised alluminium SAS wings.

Circa 1955 and generally uncommon to find.

Any info about this infrequently seen set of wings gratefully received.

Bess

Thanks chaps - unlikely to see another too soon.

A little reminiscent of the early British made Rhodesian anodised alluminium SAS cap badge with the square wire lugs ( prior to the Reutler made badge). I think the square wire may indicate it being Gaunt made.

Don't know if this has any bearing on your wings, but the Royal Australian Navy issue anodised aluminium SAS wings to their clearance Divers who train with the Australian SAS Regiment!

It certainly appears similar, but the die looks differant. I'd like to see the back of the RAN badge. Most Australian badges have pin and clasp backs I think.

The anodised badge as I have it, is listed in British Army Proficiency Badges.

Lots of differences between both wings. Certainly a different die.

Which wing are we talking about?

a. The first one which is anodised aluminium SAS.
b. The second one which is standard anodised aluminium Parachutist.
c. The third one which is linked and brass.
