Default Essex imperial yeomanry

Researching my fathers army life from 1932 to 1946, and have a range of medals and badges (15)which i want to place in a case.

One of the badges is a silver badge from the Essex Imperial yeomanry that i can not identify nor associate with his history.

description
A horseshoe under a crown, the motto Audacter et Sincere (Gallant and Loyal) – 1901–09, at the bottom and the Essex emblem of 3 scimitars central
Newby to this so any assistance gratefully accepted

Manuafactured in Birmingham, London stndard mark, Date letter is a capital N but a preceding letter or symbol can not be identified

It's a sweetheart brooch /badge dating from before your father's service, was your grandfather also in the Essex yeomanry.

The 'N' is part of the makers mark , probably F Narborough (F.N) , there should be a date letter after the lion.
