Interesting Rob, I have four others the same size, and one just like it, with all but one sold to me by forum members identifying them as nurses pins I have to go with that until I can find out for sure differently. But, from what I've been able to find out that's what they are.

You can see three of my others here. Yes, the sleeve badge is a repro, but one I doubt I'll ever get a real one of, and that was a gift form a member in Australia, so I am very happy with it.

Thanks, as I always appreciate feedback and thoughts.

Default Cambs no E

When I was collecting cap badges generally I can’t recall the Cambs no E being scarce just a variant with a WW2 story. Are they now considered rare coz they always seem to be on EBay. I’ve no idea on the price but a quick search finds one that looks good to me?

My thought too, back in the 70's, 80's, 90's, noughties the no "E" variety was as thick on the ground as the correct spelling.
Are they really "scarce" or just assumed to be because they're a variation from the norm?

I tend to see them on eBay and occasionally on dealer sites, so probably not rare. I think that since Jon wrote his excellent book on the HG that probably made them more desirable.

Holyboy, I think that badge you're looking at is fine in my opinion, and that seems to be within what I've been seeing as the going rate. Anyway, I'd be happy with it.
