Default Dating RTR arm badges

Chaps, whilst sorting out my RTR arm badges for Michaels post, I found I had two which appear older. The threads are not fluorescent under ultra violet light.

Can anyone give me a rough date for these two?

Bess

Hi Bess, I would say WW2. The one with brown outlined turret and gun I would have said was Italian as their black tended to faded to brown but the obverse is also brown so maybe made by someone with colour blindness!! Certainly more than likely WW2 and due to war time shortages. Still an interesting badge, I will check mine tomorrow to see if I have one, hope this helps Mike

Hi Bess, no, I don't have one. If you consider getting rid of it I would be interested, best wishes Mike

Hi Bess, as luck would have it picked up some tank arm badges and there was one which is all brown including the track. Will post a photo soon. Still no nearer to working out why, other than bad eyesight or other trade badges were usually finished in shades of brown, but that wouldn't explain your badge being half and half, best wishes Mike
