Default More WW2 RCAF wings?

Wartime production? Again, your thoughts would be appreciated...
Thank you,
Dominique

It is likely that they are WW2 vintage, although I can't find anything in Warren Carroll's book (referred to before replying to your last posting) showing a navigator's brevet like yours apart from on p.63 drafted in February 1943 where it shows proposed flying badges. In it, the navigator's badge has the wing feathers outlined in black like yours, although this is only a drawing and not a prototype cloth version.

I forgot to mention that in the illustration the letters RCAF appear below the round part and not within it.

Default Russ Huff's.

Thank you David ; as to the navigator's wing, it is pictured in Russ Huff's "Wings of WW2 " p 136.
Best regards,
D.

Thank you, Dominique. I have seen Russ Huff's book but don't have a copy of it. I must see if I can locate a copy.

All are WW2 era (they changed I think in 1947). Beware though as many Indian repros have the black thread as per the N wing.

The variant of the N wing you have provided has been a subject of debate for many. I am the opinion of an older repro. I have never seen any photo evidence to support it being worn during war time or even post war to early 50's. I am no expert but I have looked at a lot of RCAF half wings. Sorry...don't like it.

I knew at some point you`d chime in with that lol. I like the brevet, just to throw some confusion in there

Ya ya. Still don't like it. I will happily eat crow when someone produces a clear picture of someone wearing one during war time. Until then....

This one listed on ww2wings is 100% authentic. I purchased this wing directly from a veteran's estate long ago in Ottawa. However, I wouldn't say the wing wasn't from 1945-47 or so.

You can see that it was removed from a uniform...look at the thread remains along the edge.
