With that name on the back, very probably a sweetheart. here's an earlier discussion of the regiment and its badges by someone who knows stuff! http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ead.php?t=9684
The regiment was formed in 1936 and went inactive in 1945, so dating the badge shouldn't be a challenge! |

It's actually a Pipes and Drums Plaid or Glengarry badge.... and it's worth a lot of money...

sweetheart material M&H Regt.
fantasy piece or sweetheart pin...this unit had no pipe band...there are alot of sweetheart material to this unit including broaches, rings, pendants, cigarette cases, etc. The unit was large, had a large band, and was actively engaged in recruiting events around the London Ontario area and it seems a great deal of promotional material was made and sold.

In addition,I,ve seen the above star broach several times over the last few years and it generally sells for well below the cap badge value...

Interesting comment Mike. Chris Brooker has it listed as a pipe and drums badge. IF it was a bandsman badge, it looks more like a Wolseley helmet badge. And valued it at $1250.

I,m sorry, but I will differ with Mr Brooker.....if you held it in your hand it is clearly costume jewelry quality and has nothing to do with a pipe band either real or fictional. Some times things are what they are,no matter how hard one wants it to be part of an imaginary pipe band......they aren't being made in Holland are they?
